Join us for a Saturday seminar designed to shift your thinking away from the common cultural ideas of “school at home” to creating an individualized learning experience for your child that reaches his heart and fills him with self-governed purpose.

Author of Lifestyle of Learning Approach to Education, Marilyn Howshall, will cover principles of effective learning, emphasizing the importance of your children connecting to their own learning process.

She will practically describe how she identified her children’s learning processes, which led to validating their activities.

She will also remove four stumbling blocks from your understanding about learning and education so you can free your family into vital relational learning processes.

•  Gain insights into overcoming common obstacles to learning, to nurture a whole-life education.

•  Receive practical guidance transitioning your children from school to home.

•  Relieve your fears about educational gaps and recognize faulty methods of learning.

•  Contemplate creating an environment at home conducive to natural learning.

You will be encouraged to connect with your children’s heart, as you recognize their unique gifts, and engage in heart-level training. This event promises valuable tools and biblical insights to help you begin your home education journey with a practical vision beyond “getting school done” that is rich in purpose.

Hello Dear Moms!

I'm Marilyn Howshall, author of the Lifestyle of Learning Approach to Home Education. I’ve been ministering to families at meetings and conferences for more than 30 years, answering questions for moms for their homeschooling and family relationships.

If you're thinking about homeschooling, or you've recently begun, we want to encourage you to develop vision for a Lifestyle of Learning, so you can keep from going too far down an unproductive path that causes more difficulties for you and your children.

The Lifestyle of Learning approach to home education leads parents to understand that education’s structure is inherently relational, and the processes of both education and discipleship are actually one and the same when pursued from a relational basis. Parents learn to combine principles of growth with principles of learning by maintaining a focus on relationships. The activities of this process form character and bring family members into unity, harmony, and teamwork, increasing the influence of the family to the glory of God.

The common educational system is concerned with teaching a prescribed content-based curriculum divided into subjects and generically prepared for all students, according to an agenda of predetermined development timetables and the structure in which it all takes place. This form of “informational learning” attempts to teach students beginning from the outside to change the inside.

On the other hand, Lifestyle of Learning emphasizes transformational learning where a student is educated from a base of relational principles beginning with the attitudes, intentions and motivations of the heart (the inside) and working toward the student acquiring academics, knowledge, and skills (the outside) according to his individuality. He learns to direct his own educational process. The Lifestyle of Learning message directs parents with wisdom to discern each child’s current whole-life needs and to become Spirit-led in meeting those needs.

As a veteran homeschooler, I want to share some foundational principles to consider that you have likely never heard before. We want to encourage you and relieve some of your fears, and point you in a good direction for beginning your homeschool journey.

We hope you can come join us!
