Thank you, Annie and Lizzy, for filming this for us!

Well, let's talk about the video. When I first watched it, I thought, "That's silly! It was super easy to just tell Lizzy where the tape was. She didn't even have get up or stop doing what she was doing." Then, I remember times in the past when I've done the exact same thing Annie did, even though it would have been easy to give an answer.

Here are some reasons I can think of why Annie (or anyone else) would be ignoring Lizzy:

1) Perhaps Annie is holding a grudge against Lizzy, and she is trying to "make her pay" for something.
2) Maybe Annie is "too busy" with what she is doing to momentarily turn her thoughts toward answering the question.
3) What if Annie wants to cause trouble for Lizzy, trying to make her upset.
4) Annie might think it's funny to make Lizzy wander around looking for it, so she won't tell her.
5) Maybe Annie just doesn't feel like answering.
6) Maybe Annie is so used to being unkind to Lizzy as a habit, that she responds with unkindness most of the time.
7) I'm not really coming up with anything else...can you think of some reasons why?

In any case, none of those reasons stand the test of love. In all those situations, you can ask, "Is that loving?" and the answer, we all know, is no, it is totally unloving. On the other hand, it is quite loving to help someone when they need help and are asking you for it. It is loving to meet other people's needs, especially when it's your family member and the help is so easy to give.

I pray that you will be thinking about and acting towards loving your family this week, and that your relationships will continue to grow with them and with the Lord.

Love,
Rachel
