Day 19: The Story of “Joy to the World”

Joy to the World was written in 1719 by Isaac Watts, one of the most influential hymn writers in church history. Watts had a deep love for Scripture and often paraphrased the Psalms into songs for the church to sing. This carol began as a reflection on Psalm 98, celebrating the coming of the Lord to rule with righteousness and justice.
